Sonoplus 3000-DS
Use these Digital Cardioscopes as a stethoscope in the normal course of your daily practice. Special "anti-interference" technology provides crystal clear acoustics. When needed, the Sonoplus 3000-DS is ready to use as a portable or mobile ECG, capable of recording data and storing up to 16 minutes of data. Easy download to a computer through a USB connection enables permanent storage of patient records.
Everything is provided in the package including the unit itself, batteries, software, electrodes and a full user manual. You will be using the unit right out of the box as a stethoscope, but it can do so much more as an ECG.Great for mobile practitioners and EMS personnel.

Methadone Screening
The FDA has long cautioned that methadone can lead to QT prolongation and Torsades de Pointes. Click HERE for FDA safety information from 2006. Click HERE for an additional FDA Alert regarding methadone.

The Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) convened a Cardiac Expert Panel that in 2009 recommended QTc interval screening for clinicians prescribing methadone. Click HERE to see the published report and click HERE to download a pdf copy.
The graph above shows the upper limit QT interval which is the time between the initiation of the QRS complex and the termination of the T wave in the electrocardiogram.
There is no doubt the screening for QT interval in methadone patients is good practice. There is also no doubt that the Sonoplus 3000-DS is the ideal clinical tool to accomplish that screening.
